The short answerGloriads is the better Ad Badger alternative for KDP authors and for accounts under $20,000 of monthly ad spend: $139 instead of $275 a month at $5,000, Kindle Unlimited reads in your rules, and rules that change bids, budgets, placements and keywords, with one-click undo. Above $35,000 of monthly ad spend, Ad Badger costs less, and it has hourly dayparting, profit from Seller Central and organic rank tracking.
What is Ad Badger?
Ad Badger is Amazon PPC software from Austin, Texas, founded in 2017 and run by a team of about 14 people. Its core is Bids by Badger, an algorithm that moves keyword bids once a day toward a target ACOS, with dayparting, nightly keyword harvesting and negative keyword hunts around it, and, since October 2026, rules you write yourself.
It works with Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, for sellers, vendors and KDP authors, on the 16 marketplaces its pricing page lists. Its search term and keyword harvesting tools do not cover Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, and it has no Streaming TV.
Ad Badger is also known for its teaching: a weekly podcast, a weekly live strategy session, and two one-on-one onboarding calls with every plan.
How Ad Badger pricing works in 2026
Ad Badger charges a flat monthly fee by band of monthly ad spend, with no percentage: $275 up to $5,000, $440 up to $25,000, $660 up to $75,000 and $920 up to $250,000. Paid yearly, Starter comes to $212.50 a month.
Each plan allows 10% more spend than its band. Above that, Ad Badger adds an overage every month: the price difference to the plan that covers your spend, multiplied by 1.1. A $275 Starter account that spends $7,500 in a month pays $456.50 that month.
Since October 6, 2026, the self-serve plans start with a 30-day free trial that needs a card at checkout, and paid plans are non-refundable, including 6-month and 12-month plans. The 60-day opt-out of the longer plans is gone.
Gloriads sets its price from last month's ad spend: $49 a month up to $1,000, $139 up to $5,000, with no percentage up to $100,000 a month and no overage in the middle of a month. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial, without a card.
Ad Badger for KDP authors: what Kindle Unlimited changes
Ad Badger accepts KDP accounts, but its own help center says KENP-specific ads and lock screen ads are not fully supported, because Amazon does not give it the data. Its bid algorithm works from the sales your ads are credited with, so a book that earns mostly through Kindle Unlimited page reads looks like it does not sell.
Gloriads reads Kindle Unlimited pages read and their estimated royalties from the Amazon Ads API, shows them on the dashboard and lets your rules use them: pages read, KENP royalties, and an ACOS that counts them. A rule can then keep a keyword that earns reads instead of cutting it.
The price follows an author's budget too. At $1,000 of monthly ad spend, Ad Badger's Starter plan costs $275 a month; Gloriads costs $49.
Why sellers look for an Ad Badger alternative
The reasons come back on comparison pages and forums, and most are written in Ad Badger's own pages:
- A high floor: Starter costs $275 a month whether you spend $300 or $5,000 on ads.
- An overage, charged each month your spend passes your plan by more than 10%, and no refund on paid plans since October 2026.
- One automation at a time on a campaign: turning on dayparting or a rule pauses Bids by Badger on it.
- Rules that only change bids: budgets and placements are never automated, except by asking its AI assistant.
- Changes made in Amazon are not protected: Ad Badger recommends making bid changes inside Ad Badger, because its dayparting can run on an outdated bid.
- No Streaming TV, 16 marketplaces, and each extra team member is a paid add-on.
How Gloriads works differently
Gloriads runs rules you can read, written as IF, AND, OR, NOT and ELSE IF on any metric and any time window, from ready-made templates or from scratch. Rules work on all four ad types and act on bids, budgets, keywords, negatives, placements and campaign states, wherever Amazon allows it. Several rules can watch the same campaign: when two disagree, the safest change wins.
Before a rule acts, Test now runs it on your real account and lists every change it would make. Once it is on, it runs as often as you choose, from every hour to every 3 months, inside guardrails: ceilings on bids and budgets, a cooldown between two changes, and your own edits, in Gloriads or in the Amazon console, left alone for 7 days.
Every change lands in Activity with the rule and the figures that caused it, and one click undoes it, or a whole rule run. Never-negate lists of keywords and of ASINs keep your brand and your own products out of every negative.
Around the rules, Gloriads launches campaigns in bulk from a spreadsheet, copies them to other marketplaces with keywords translated and bids converted, paces a monthly budget per marketplace, and shows one dashboard for every marketplace and ad type, with 14 months of day-by-day history from the day you connect. Team members are free.
Where Ad Badger is still the better choice
Price, for large accounts. Above $35,000 of monthly ad spend, Ad Badger's flat bands cost less than Gloriads: at $50,000, $660 a month against $749, and the gap grows above $100,000, where Gloriads charges 1% of the ad spend.
Ad Badger also has profit, TACOS and organic sales from your Seller Central account, organic rank tracking, and an AI assistant that can change Sponsored Products bids, budgets and states after you approve. Gloriads does not have these today: our API and MCP connector read your data but do not change it.
And if you value being taught, Ad Badger's podcast, weekly live session and onboarding calls have no equivalent at Gloriads, which relies on its documentation, Test now and undo.
What you keep and what you lose when you leave Ad Badger
Your campaigns, keywords, bids and negatives belong to your Amazon Ads account, not to Ad Badger, so they stay. Gloriads reads them as they are, with 14 months of day-by-day history from Amazon.
Watch your dayparting. Ad Badger pauses campaigns or changes bids for a time slot, then puts them back when the slot ends. If it stops while a slot is running, nothing puts them back: switch dayparting off outside its time slots before you leave, and check for campaigns left paused.
What stays in Ad Badger is its own data: target ACOS settings, rules, Nightly Hunts, your Never-Negatives list and your history. Its terms let it delete that data 30 days after your plan ends, and removing a marketplace deletes its history within 72 hours. Export what you want to keep first.
